Brief Description of our Adventure

We actually decided to go here the day before Christmas eve.  We made our reservations and picked the best room ( hot tub included).  We stayed at…… We had expected the hot tub would overlook the lake or something but it was located in the bathroom.  It was still nice and enjoyable.  The front desk had also said we had to go visit the “bar” in the hotel which was actually a stand with some mediocre appetizers, but had some great and friendly staff.  What was nice was the transit that is available to take you to affiliated bars and the shopping area.  We decided to go to the Coach inn which was a nice dinner club/bar that had a crackling fireplace and cozy setting.  The service was okay but nothing really to speak of.

Fortunately before we went back to our hotel we stopped in a local tavie in Sheboygan called……their specialty was wings and walking in you wouldn’t have expected much.  We sat at a bar where the bartender asked us what we would like.  The menu was unusual in that you had a pad with choices and a paper where you checked off the chicken wing sauce you would like.  The bartender asked if we were from around and when we said we were staying in a resort she went on to ask us where and give us a history of the town.  Not too much later another bartender chatted us up about where I was from and where I ate wings and alerted me to the fact that the restaurant he worked at had won awards and the contests had included that restaurant.  I only found out later the inconspicuous bartender was the owner….WE ATE THE WINGS AND THEY ARE THEY BEST EVER!!!!!~If you go to this area come to this restaurant it is the best.

There are a lot of great things about this area especially the view of LAKE MICHIGAN.  We hiked as much as we could as we went during the winter, and it is beautiful.  There are many park trails to enter and explore.  I love the great lakes and this is quintessence among them.  You will have privacy and beauty among the scenery and I have never seen anything comparative to it.  The people here are private and enjoy giving you the history and letting you find what you will in their own gold mine of seclusion.

Special Instructions

Skip the so-called Bar on the 1st floor of the Inn on Woodlake, Its only a disappointment because its a bus cart with beer.

Be sure to checkout all the shops at WoodLake adjacent to the hotel.  Fantastic little shops that has something for everyone.

Bring warm cloths just in case you go to the park we are suggesting, the winds off Lake Michigan, depending upon day and weather can be quite strong, however it has magnificent scenery and nice hiking and walking to stretch out the old legs.
